• Among noted landmarks stands the former residence of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet Du Fu, who lived in Chengdu to escape war in 759. During this time, Du Fu wrote many famous poems. The cottage covers an area of 244mu set in the style of Qing Dynasty architecture and has been well preserved. It includes an exhibition hall and the rebuilt Du Fu Thatched Hut. The hut also consists of the Office, the Hall of Poetry and History, the Wicker Gate, and the Temple in Memory of Minister of Works. In 1961, it was listed by the State Council to be a key historical site under state protection.

  • In 256 BC, during the Warring States Period, the governor of the Shu Prefecture Li Bing and his son led the people to build this large water dam to control flooding on the Chengdu plains. After more than 2,250 years, the dam still plays a significant role in agriculture on the Chengdu plains. It is a historical wonder of science and technology. The Dujiang Dam is located on the Minjiang River in Guanxian, Sichuan Province and is 37 miles from downtown Chengdu.

  • Mt. Qingcheng is one of the most sacred places of Taoism, located 10.5 miles southwest of Dujiangyan City. The mountain has 36 peaks and over 100 scenic spots. The highest peak is called Laoxiaoding, approximately 5,250 feet above sea level. Mt. Qingcheng was the site of many Taoist activities, led by the renowned Taoist Master Zhang Daoling. Many of the buildings that were used for these Taoist activities are still well preserved. Numerous Taoist relics and ancient sites can be found on this mountain.

  • Located in northern suburban Chengdu, the Panda City covers an area of 148 acres. It is the home of 20 pandas and is an invaluable center for the protection, generation and scientific research of the animal. The site is open to the public.

  • The temple was built in the 6th century for Prime Minister Zhuge Liang of the Kingdom of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period. The present temple was actually rebuilt in the 11th year (1672) of the reign of the Qing Emperor Kang Xi
